If you are reading this today, there's a good chance you ventured here from Guilded Age. Welcome! Our journey starts at Intervention last September in a humble panel room. After we premiered our interactive comic style for "Innovation in Webcomics" and T Campbell showcased his Cruciverbacomics (challenge accepted!) the subject of a guest page was breached.
Peej and I jumped at the chance to portray the characters of Arkerra in the most outlandish way possible. Maybe it was the hours spent playing Super Mario Bros and Minecraft or something else we found in a cow pasture, but we settled almost immediately on the final concept "Shroom Country."
What ensued was a whirlwind of creativitude. We cashed personal favors and made deals with various devils to get the page done as soon as our own human frailty allowed. After hours of auditions, voice recording, re-takes, foley, art and animation; it's done! Not a bad holiday season.
Big thanks to everyone involved:
Greg Benge (A,W) - Gravedust Deserthammer, Shroom
Keith Lough - Music
Nina Osegueda - Frigg Akerfeldt
Jamee T Perkins - Syr’Nj
Corinne Simmers - Bandit Keynes
PJ Simmers (W) - Payet Best, Byron Hackenslasher, Shroom
Phil Kahn and T Campbell of course.
Hello SJ crew! Sorry about the long hiatus. Bengie and I took a break over the holidays to enjoy time with our families. Once that was over we hit the ground running getting our secret project finished and ready to roll out. What is that project you ask? All will be revealed tomorrow. With all of that accomplished SlackJaw will now resume it's regular schedule starting next week. Thank you all for your patience!
I have another site for you all to check out. In the Hot Seat is a web series done by Roland where he samples different hot sauces and peppers. If you are a fan of schadenfreude I'd say start with the episode where they eat a tortilla chip topped with a ghost chili which is topped with pure chili extract that is only meant to be used as an additive. Catch that awesome graphic at the beginning?

That would be done by none other than Bengie, your favorite SJ artist. Hot sauce enthusiasts will enjoy this show for sure!
Hello once again SJ crew! Some friends of SlackJaw have started a podcast. The Best of No Worlds podcast stars Leonard Bass and Mike Stanton. Each week they riff on a different topic. Be warned that their language and content is not safe for work. Don't bother trying to listen with headphones at work either. I guarantee you'll end up laughing out loud which will get some strange looks from the coworkers. I'm not just plugging this because Leonard and Mike are friends and they have a great podcast. (Though honestly that's enough reason for me to recommend it to you all.) Our resident SJ artist Bengie has provided the banner up top on their site. So head on over to the Best of No Worlds podcast and give em a listen!
How do you guys like the new look? This is all in thanks to none other than the creator of Comicpress, Frumph! Thanks!
